Judge sentencing Ahmed Ressam Slams US

- enemy combatants under the Geneva convention, in order to meet the requirements of protection.. must have an identifiable uniform or markings to differentiate them from civilians and I quote:
"combatants must be clearly distinguishable from civilians."

- the right to counsel is something we as Citizens enjoy here, but nowhere in the constitution does it guarantee it for foreigners.

- the Geneva convention(s) are between nation-states. Dealing with nebulous entities like Al Quaeda, where the members are a loosely knit cadre of extremists beholden to noone, exempts them from this treatment.

- I am not advocating brutalization or inhumane torture.
