"Why did Hellfest file an injunction in Burlington County. Trenton is in Mercer County. Wouldn't jurisdiction be there? Is it because SBA is a county agency that the case get moved to another jurisdiction?

The following is speculation. So don't sue me Hellfest or post my personal info on your website so that your fans can contact me.

The circumstances beyond Hellfests control is that they weren't selling tickets. First it was 100 dollars for all three days. Then TBS drops of the bill and suddenly there is no headliner so Hellfest says fuck it we need to do something and offers LT again, and they say yes. Seriously you offer your biggest draw a month before the show? Then suddenly you could buy tickets for individual days. If shit was selling at 100 a pop no way do they make this move. Probably money was due and Hellfest didn't come through, whether it was for an insurance policy or not. And I think if there was a contract signed before hand specifing a certain insurance rate and then SBA asked for a different rate, then Hellfest wins the court case no matter what county it was in.

Seriously these guys show little sense. They spend money on Outspoken and mean season and 108- these bands are not going to fill an arena. Public Enemy doesn't sell out the Electric Factory. You have some bands that are legitamite draws but mostly it is from the same group of people (1000 Terror fans also like Hatebreed). Bouncing Souls and Against Me will draw other type of kids, but compared to the other bands on the bill what fan of theirs is going to spend 100 for a three day pass? In fact how many LT fans were going to do that? (Aside form #1 fan Jeff Pelly of course)

Or maybe someone did send a video of last years carnage to SBA. Like a rival promoter. If suddenly Concerts East and Electric Factory had Hatebreed and Against Me lined up for the weekend maybe I'd be suspicious. "

So, the same person who is responsible for Hellfest also has it in his best interest to books his bands at the fest. Since booking agencies take something like 10% of a band's guarantee, the agent wants the band to get the most money.

So, the same person responsible for making sure Hellfest costs are low so that ticket prices can be low, so more kids can come, is also the same person who stands to make money off paying bands the most? Hmmmm.... Not only is that the sketchiest thing I have ever heard, but Keith is among the dumbest rollerbladers on earth to not question this.

Honestly, I think the best thing to come from this is that band guarantees get exposed. Booking agents get especially greedy."

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Hellfest has been cancelled. After a full day in court in Burlington County, NJ, Hellfest was unable to meet unreasonable demands brought to Hellfest's attention by the Sovereign Bank Arena on August 16, 2005 at 6:21 PM, and to be met by August 17, 2005 at 7:00 AM. Actions were taken and Hellfest had an injunction filed by noon on August 17, 2005, but was overruled by the judge.

We send our deepest apologies out to the fans and everyone who was involved with the event and want you to be aware that legal action is being taken. For ticket refunds please contact the Sovereign Bank Arena box office.

"Hellfest is in court now trying to file an injunction against the Sovereign Bank Arena. SBA pulled out after someone led them to believe that there would be lots of fights and violence at the shows. With this new information at hand, SBA decided that they wanted an extreme crazy pants insurance plan. Something that Hellfest organizers can not provide in a few hours. SBA has closed their doors and is not allowing the delivery of any equipment inside the venue. Because the fest is in a few hours - and Hellfest peoples cant give bands a definite answer, many/most of the bands flying in have canceled their plans. Hellfest did not give any sort of a deposit to a single band - and told the bands that if the show was canceled they could not refund travel costs. Which is why many of the bands are saying "thanks but no thanks" "

when i called about 2 minutes ago she said exactly to me "the hellfest event is 100% canceled, I was told a few minutes ago, im recieving a lot of calls so please call back later about a refund, or you can contact your point of purchase"

They only sold xxx number of tickets via paypal and they couldn't sell any more because of PayPal spending limits. I just wonder who Keith will blame this year. This isn't like 2000 when you only had Kurt Ballou yelling at you, this year, you have judges. Do you think Public Enemy care about hardcore?"


"If you bought your ticket through the venue, you can most likely get a refund. If you bought your ticket via paypal which was the "official" way set up on the hellfest website, you are so shit out of luck.

Think about it - last I heard, Paypal capped Hellfest account at about 1,000 tickets. Tickets ranged from $100 to $120 or so. That is about $100,000 dollars that is unaccounted for. Holy fucking shit.

Now, I'm not a big fan of Star Trek, as a kid it didn't hold my attention nearly as much as the other sci fi fare afforded to me at the time.

- and of COURSE Star Wars
However, as I grew older and began to read Asimov, Clarke, Bradbury, etc. I realized that a lot more was happening. Metaphor and allegory entered into the picture and I revisited many old favorites with a new perspective.
Over time, as my political compass changed, I began to see things in a newer and sometimes more paranoid light
That being said, I'm going to start watching re-runs of Star Trek to see just how much of this authors perspective I agree with.
Somewhat related, I was initially outraged that Starbuck got a sex change in the new Battlestar Galactica, now I see that female or male, these is a new series and I definitely can deal with it.
Maybe my daughter will grow up to see re-runs of the 'new' BSG and emulate her?
I hope not. Cigar smoke isn't healthy.
